Did you know that we have an Individual Members program?
Members of this program are folks who are brought together by the love for our planet, collective impact, and the power of positive thinking.
By joining our community, this community of like-minded individuals are helping us prove that seemingly small changes add up to make a BIG collective impact!
Memberships help us fight various environmental problems, including food waste, biodiversity loss, climate change, pollution, and plastics in the ocean.
Thank you to our Individual Members for believing in Random Acts of Green, our mission and collective climate action.
Thank you, to our valued Individual Members:

“As I drove away, I was prompted to consider options to reduce my carbon footprint.
I noticed an icon on my dashboard for average L/100KM. As I proceeded with driving to work, the numbers went up and down; if I was slow with my acceleration and deceleration the number decreased, and likewise if I was aggressively accelerating or decelerating, it increased.
Well, here was a simple solution to consider.
For the week, I only focused on my acceleration and deceleration; I did not significantly change my overall driving speed, only the rate of acceleration and deceleration. I was able to consistently decrease my average L/100KM from a starting point of 10.6L/100KM down to 9.1 (and even go to an all time low of 8.9!) within the week.
I work all over in small towns and cities in Ontario where public transit is not yet an option. I drive about 35 000KM per year. Reducing my average fuel consumption by 1.5L/100KM means that in 1 year, I would reduce consumption by 525 litres. A 1.5L/100KM difference is already a 14% reduction. Over the course of 1 year, with the price of gasoline about $1.30?L, that is a savings of $682.50…ca-ching-and all of this without really doing much that is new.
Now I am thinking about giving extra time to reduce overall driving speed and what that will do for my average L/100KM.”
