Over the past 31 days, Kedron Kimmett and her mom Eileen Kimmett have been participating in the HallowGreen Challenge.

They participated in every single daily challenge in the month of October to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change!

We are so thankful for their participation – and we gave out prizes for all of their “Green Acts” — this included:

  1. Donated reusable mason jar containers from Sherrie at Simply Helpful
  2. The Big Book of Nature Activities from Kawartha Local
  3. A Random Acts of Green T-Shirt
  4. A Bee Hotel provided at a discount from Peterborough Green Up
  5. Reusable stainless steel straw

Thank you so much to both Kedron and Eileen for participating in the challenge.

Eileen told us that :

“I have to say this month has got us thinking a lot! Lots of  positive feedback. Lots of family time spent too on the challenges. And we need to replace Joel’s truck soon but later next year and we are seriously looking at an electric/green car – and we have a lot of time to research.

Though we can still improve – we also realize all the things we’ve done for years – cleaners, composting, no straws etc. So as a family – it has been an excellent month beyond the day to day challenges. We really want you and others to know that!”

We know it isn’t easy taking these actions – so thank you for participating in all of them!!

You are an absolute inspiration for our community and it really is great to see some positive and real change happening!!

Well done – and keep up the #green work!
